Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know about Mark My Pics — privacy, formats, batch limits, mobile support, and more.

Is Mark My Pics really free?
Yes — completely free, with no trial, no sign-up, and no credit card. The site is supported by a small number of light display ads and optional tips. You can watermark as many images as you like without ever paying.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your photos never leave your device. You can verify this by loading the site, disconnecting from the internet, and watermarking an image — it will still work.
Which image formats are supported?
You can upload JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, and HEIF files. You can export as JPG, PNG, or WEBP at the quality level you choose.
Does it work with iPhone HEIC photos?
Yes. Mark My Pics decodes HEIC and HEIF files using a built-in WebAssembly decoder, so photos from any modern iPhone work directly without conversion.
How many images can I watermark at once?
Up to 10 images per batch on the free plan. Settings — text, font, position, opacity, format — are applied to every image in the batch automatically, and you can download them all as a single ZIP.
Can I use my own logo?
Yes. Switch to the image watermark mode and upload a transparent PNG. You can scale it, set its opacity, and position it anywhere on your photos.
Will the watermarked image lose quality?
Quality depends on the export format and quality slider you choose. PNG is lossless. WEBP at 85–95% quality typically gives the best balance of size and fidelity. JPG is the most universally compatible. We never resize or downscale your image unless you ask us to.
Can I remove the watermark later?
No. Once a watermark is rendered into the exported file, it becomes part of the pixels. Always keep a copy of your original image before applying a watermark.
Does Mark My Pics work on mobile?
Yes. The interface is fully responsive and tested on iOS and Android browsers. You can upload photos directly from your camera roll and download watermarked files to your device.
Do you support animated GIFs or videos?
Not at this time. Mark My Pics is focused on still images. Animated formats and video watermarking may come in a future release.
What happens to my data?
We don't collect, store, or transmit your image files. The site uses standard analytics for page-view counts only. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I use watermarked images commercially?
Absolutely. The watermarks you create belong to you. There is no licence fee, no attribution requirement, and no usage limit on the output.
